When we met Chandra and Isabelle to have a chat about what they wanted for their wedding, we were given 2 clear directions: outdoors + formal.
We considered a few venues like the botanics, hortpark, gardenasia but The Lawn at Raffles Hotel left a special impression...it was surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful architectural plus Raffles being renowned for generous food portions. The decision was very easy.
Isabelle is from Mauritius (she is a friend of our other Mauritian bride who got hitched in Jan this year - A start into 2011)and Chandra is from Indonesia, so we tried to mix the different cultures and come up with a compromise. Food was different, a 4 course western menu was served instead of the 8 course chinese dinner which looked delicious! Isabelle also did a bit of DIY and each guest was given a beautifully wrapped mauritian wedding sweet.
The ceremony started at 6.30pm followed by cocktails and dinner at 7.30pm. We dotted the lawn with candles to give the evening a gentle glow and together with their pink 4-tier wedding cake, it was a very warm and sweet celebration. Most of their guests had flown from all around the world and speeches were made in English, Chinese and Bahasa!!
To Isabelle and Chandra - A lifetime of happiness!
